First Question:

Joy and Pleasure

Joy and Pleasure is something that cannot be taught to a person. It's something that your preference decides. It will be really hard to teach someone to like something without enticing them with something that will benefit them. In singing, you convince them to like it by maybe letting them sing their favourite song. But they can be hesitant about it because they don't believe they can sing or they hate having their voice heard or something.

Many people think they can't sing but like to sing anyway so they may sing with the people who can sing for fun. Having the passion and love to sing is the best way to find joy in singing and performing.

When you find people who like to sing and perform you can clearly see the joy when they are singing. Joy can be shown in so many ways. A way is to see this is in your facial expression when your singing. For example, if you look like your enjoying it and seriously making an effort to sing to the best of your ability. The audience are going to believe you like what your doing. It is also the same way if you look bored and lifeless then the audience will make the assumption you dont like being up on the stage.

This is an example of how enjoying singing can show and bring out the feeling to reach to the highest standard.

Second Question:

Pronunciation/ Enunciation:

Over enunciation or pronunciation in singing is mainly shown in the face (facial expressions) and the shape of the mouth (movement). It is typically when the singer exaggerates expressions in their face which changes the mouth shape to give better sound (for vowels in words).

The commonly used exercises to develop better voice transmission is to singing the different vowels, starting with the easiest vowels to be controlled "o", but also practising using the scale. Then climb up to the hardest vowel "e" in the same way. Practice will make perfect :)

Question 3: Physical Communication: Body movements and choreography. How does it help you to commit to the song? Why do you give more to the audience this way? Is there still anything holding you back? If so, any idea on how to overcome this last hurdle? i think that body movements and choreography can help us commit to the song. Because we get attached to it and the emotions we feel follows through our movements on stage. This makes us want to perform to a higher standard. Also, performing (singing and moving) can attract and hold the attention needed from the audience throughout the song. It shows the audience that the performers are very comfortable and confident in what they are doing on stage. It doesn't seem that they are being forced to perform. They can see the joy, this will help them get more out of the performance and also leave them something to remember.

I find that moving while singing are easy and help me sing more comfortably because dancing is actually my passion. Doing what i like to do while singing makes me confident and happy about performing. I would rather move than sing in reality, therefore moving while singing is a compromise for me. Even though the most important thing is to sing.
